SPB 7092 - Consolidation of State Information Technology Services

• Transfers the Agency for Enterprise Information Technology from the Executive Office of the Governor to the Department of Management Services and expands its duties to include planning, project management, and implementation of enterprise IT services.

• Establishes a mandatory schedule for consolidating state agency data centers into four primary data centers (Northwood Shared Resource Center, Southwood Shared Resource Center, and Northwest Regional Data Center at Florida State University) between 2011-2015, with specific agencies assigned consolidation dates.

• Requires state agencies to submit technology purchases over $10,000 to the Agency for Enterprise Information Technology and mandates the agency submit an aggregated purchasing plan to the Legislative Budget Commission by December 31, 2011.

• Accelerates statewide e-mail service migration deadline from June 30, 2015 to December 31, 2012 and creates a new statewide desktop service as an enterprise IT service, with implementation plan due by December 31, 2011.

• Transfers the Northwood Shared Resource Center from the Department of Children and Family Services to the Department of Management Services and repeals the Agency Chief Information Officers Council.
