Florida College System institutions and state universities that offer priority course registration must provide priority registration for veterans receiving GI Bill educational benefits or their spouses and dependent children who received transferred benefits.

Eligible veterans, spouses, and dependent children receive priority course registration until their GI Bill educational benefits expire.

Independent postsecondary educational institutions are encouraged (but not required) to provide priority course registration for veterans and their families under the same eligibility criteria.

The act takes effect July 1, 2012.
