Department of Economic Opportunity may sell naming rights and lease advertising space on state transportation facilities, including the Florida Turnpike, highways, toll facilities, rest areas, and railways.

Naming rights contracts are for public relations and advertising purposes only and do not require changes to street signs, mailing addresses, or 911 emergency system listings.

Sales or leases shall be for a minimum of 1 year and may extend longer under multiyear contracts; all advertising displays must be approved and installed by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise or Department of Transportation.

All costs for display development, construction, installation, maintenance, and removal are paid by the buyer.

Revenue from contracts is distributed as follows: 80% to the State Transportation Trust Fund, 10% to the Department of Economic Opportunity, and 10% to district school boards (prorated by population) for driver education programs.
