Require district school boards to list the specific emergency response agencies responsible for notifying the school district of each type of emergency in their emergency response policies.

Mandate that emergency response agencies identified in a district's emergency response policy notify private schools in the district that opt into the district's emergency notification procedures when an occurrence threatens student safety.

Require district school boards to establish model emergency management and preparedness procedures for life-threatening emergencies including weapon-use, hazardous materials, weather emergencies, and manmade emergencies.

Effective date is July 1, 2012.
