CS/CS/CS/HB 455 - Sex Offenses Summary

• Replaces "instant message name" with "Internet identifier" throughout sexual predator and offender registration statutes, with voluntary disclosure of certain personal information waiving exemptions.

• Expands sexual predator and offender qualifying offenses, including s. 916.1075(2) and specific provisions of s. 800.04, and requires enhanced registration information including passport and immigration documents.

• Requires sex offenders unable to obtain/update driver's licenses to report residence changes to sheriffs within 48 hours with confirmation to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

• Mandates electronic monitoring for certain sex offenders on probation, community control, or conditional release, with probationers/controllees required to pay for mandatory sexual offender treatment evaluations.

• Allocates $112,420 in recurring General Revenue funds to the Department of Corrections for electronic monitoring; effective October 1, 2012.
