Establishes the Purple Ribbon Task Force within the Department of Elderly Affairs to assess Alzheimer's disease impact on Florida and develop a comprehensive state plan.

Task force consists of 18 volunteer members appointed equally by the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President of the Senate, including persons with Alzheimer's disease, family caregivers, healthcare providers, and industry representatives.

Members serve without compensation or reimbursement for per diem or travel expenses; Department of Elderly Affairs provides administrative support.

Task force must submit an interim study by January 30, 2013, and a final Alzheimer's disease state plan by August 1, 2013, addressing state trends, existing services, gaps in care, and policy recommendations.

Task force terminates on the earlier of August 1, 2013, or the date the final report is submitted; act takes effect upon becoming law.
