CS/HB 483 - Uniform Commercial Code Amendments

• Revises Florida's Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 (secured transactions) to conform with the revised Article 9 prepared by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws

• Amends definitions related to authentication, certificates of title, jurisdiction of organization, registered organizations, and public organic records

• Modifies requirements for financing statements, including provisions for debtor names, electronic chattel paper control, debtor location, and mortgage recordings

• Creates transitional provisions (Part VIII) governing the effective date of July 1, 2013, including rules for security interests perfected before the effective date and continuation of financing statements filed under prior law

• Effective date: July 1, 2013
