Health maintenance organization contracts providing cancer chemotherapy coverage must offer prescribed oral anticancer medications on terms no less favorable than intravenously administered or injected anticancer medications.

Insurers and health maintenance organizations cannot achieve compliance by increasing copayments, deductibles, or coinsurance amounts for intravenously administered or injected anticancer medications that were covered on the bill's effective date.

Insurers and health maintenance organizations may continue to require prior authorization and other appropriate utilization controls for cancer chemotherapy treatment approval.
