Prohibits counties from preventing owners or operators of taxicabs, limousines, jitneys, or other passenger vehicles for hire from imposing credit card surcharges on fares through new statute section 125.01035.

Prohibits municipalities from preventing owners or operators of passenger vehicles for hire from imposing credit card surcharges on fares through new statute section 166.0433.

Exempts passenger vehicle fares from the existing state prohibition on credit card surcharges, allowing these service providers to charge additional fees for credit card payment instead of cash or check.

Clarifies that "credit card" includes cards for which unpaid balances are payable on demand, and moves this definition within section 501.0117.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
