Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission must establish a voluntary sound-testing program for airboats, with certified airboats testing at 107 dB A or less receiving a numbered decal allowing operation on all state navigable waters, including waterways with local airboat bans.

Airboats must be equipped with automotive-style factory mufflers, underwater exhaust, or other manufactured muffling devices; use of cutouts or flex pipe as sole muffling source is prohibited.

All airboats must display a flag on a mast or flagpole at least 10 feet above the vessel, measuring at least 10 inches by 12 inches, in international orange color.

Local ordinances discriminating against airboats without the commission-issued decal require a two-thirds majority vote for adoption.

Counties may impose additional noise regulations with a maximum sound level of 90 dB A at 50 feet, except for airboats bearing the commission-issued decal per the voluntary testing program.
