Amends Florida Statute 775.087 to modify minimum sentencing requirements for felons convicted of possessing firearms or destructive devices during crimes.

Eliminates the exception to the 10-year minimum sentence for offenders convicted of possession of a firearm by a felon who have prior convictions for violent felonies listed in s. 775.084(1)(b)1. and actually possessed a firearm or destructive device during the prior felony.

Mandates such repeat offenders receive a minimum 10-year prison sentence with no reduction available.

Honors five law enforcement officers killed by felons with prior violent felony convictions: Detective Roger Castillo and Detective Amanda Haworth (Miami-Dade Police), Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz and Sergeant Tom Baitinger (St. Petersburg Police), and Detective David White (Clay County Sheriff's Office).

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
