Adds aquariums to the list of facilities that counties can fund with tourist development tax revenues, allowing public and not-for-profit aquariums to receive the same support as convention centers, stadiums, and museums.

Allows tourist development tax revenues to be used for acquiring, constructing, extending, enlarging, remodeling, repairing, improving, maintaining, operating, or promoting publicly owned or not-for-profit operated aquariums within county boundaries.

Extends automatic tax expiration provisions to include aquariums, so county ordinances imposing the tourist development tax will automatically expire upon bond retirement or expiration of operational agreements for aquariums.

Permits counties to amend or reenact ordinances to extend the tax for ongoing operation, maintenance, repair, and renewal of aquariums without requiring referendum approval under certain conditions.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
