Prohibits openly carrying handguns and concealed weapons or firearms in Broward County Governmental Centers, county-owned healthcare and addiction recovery facilities, facilities serving children/elderly/veterans, homeless services facilities, and public transit vehicles.

Prohibits weapons in municipal city halls and designated chief administrative buildings within Broward County municipalities, and in K.C. Wright Building school board offices.

Prohibits weapons at meetings of the Broward Legislative Delegation and at any public facility or building where the Governor, members of Congress, state legislators, judges, or Florida Cabinet members are present.

Requires prominent signs at each public entrance of affected buildings and facilities announcing the weapons prohibition.

Exempts law enforcement officers from the prohibition and provides that violations are criminal misdemeanors; exempts Broward County, municipalities within the county, and the school board from state firearm preemption laws to implement this act; effective July 1, 2012.
