Exempts nonpublished reports or data from studies or research related to citrus fruit, juices, and byproducts conducted or funded by the Department of Citrus from public records disclosure requirements under Florida Statutes 119.07(1) and the state constitution.

Makes the exemption subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and requires legislative reenactment to prevent automatic repeal on October 2, 2017.

Establishes that the exemption is necessary to secure industry cooperation in providing citrus samples and proprietary business information for research by assuring confidentiality until studies are complete and approved for publication.

Applies the exemption only to unpublished reports or data; published findings remain subject to public records requirements.

Takes effect on the same date as HB 1237 or similar legislation, if adopted in the same legislative session and becomes law.
