• Authorizes individuals to apply to the Department of Law Enforcement for a certificate of eligibility to expunge or seal criminal history records for 51 specified traffic violations, regardless of adjudication status.

• Eligible violations include: submitting false affidavits, hit-and-run offenses, providing false information, drag racing, reckless driving, driving under the influence (first, second, third+ offenses, and DUI with aggravating factors), operating with suspended/revoked license, vehicle registration violations, and financial responsibility violations.

• Covers violations including speeding in excess of 50 mph, DUI with blood-alcohol level of 0.15 or higher, DUI with minors in vehicle, and various registration and licensing violations.

• Effective date: October 1, 2012.
