CS/HB 4041 Summary

• Repeals 17 Florida education statutes related to K-12 foreign language curriculum plans, alternative high school course credit pilots, prekindergarten instructor credentials, and high school diploma designations.

• Eliminates programs including the High School to Business Career Enhancement Program, Sunshine Workforce Solutions Grant Program, dropout reentry and mentor projects, and the Transition to Teaching Program.

• Repeals authorization for the Department of Education to contract with the Florida Sheriffs Association for school safety hotlines and removes provisions regarding school district sponsorship of athletic activities.

• Removes requirements for school-to-work transition information, district guidance reports, and student readiness assessments for postsecondary education and workplace preparation.

• Amends section 1011.61 regarding full-time equivalent student definitions for education finance program purposes, removing reference to alternative high school course credit provisions.
