CS/HB 4057 Summary

• Deletes the requirement for one class period per day of physical education for one semester each year for students in grades 6 through 8, effective July 1, 2012

• Maintains the requirement of 150 minutes of physical education per week for students in kindergarten through grade 5 and grade 6 students enrolled in schools containing elementary grades, with at least 30 consecutive minutes per day

• Allows physical education instruction to be provided by any instructional personnel regardless of certification, as designated by the school principal

• Requires enrollment in physical education to be reported through periodic student membership surveys and audited pursuant to statute
