Amends section 717.117, Florida Statutes to remove the exception allowing social security numbers in unclaimed property reports to be released to registered attorneys, certified public accountants, and licensed private investigators.

Social security numbers and property identifiers contained in unclaimed property reports held by the department remain confidential and exempt from public records requirements under Florida law.

Establishes the exemption as subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act with a repeal date of October 2, 2017, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Declares it is a public necessity to keep social security numbers confidential to prevent fraudulent claims to unclaimed property and identity theft against property owners.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
