Appropriates $2 million from the North Broward Hospital District to compensate Denise Gordon Brown and David Brown for injuries sustained by their son Darian Brown due to negligence at Broward General Medical Center.

Provides compensation for a hypoxic brain injury that resulted when Darian Brown was not delivered immediately despite fetal monitoring showing significant risk on January 14-15, 2000.

Finalizes a settlement under which the district will pay $2 million as its self-insured retention, with $10.55 million already paid, to satisfy a jury verdict of $35.236 million and final judgment of $34.418 million.

Limits attorney's fees, lobbying fees, costs, and other similar expenses to no more than 25 percent of the $2 million appropriated under this act.

Designates the payment as sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from Darian Brown's injuries.
