Authorizes Jackson Memorial Hospital (Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County) to pay $799,000 to Odette Acanda and Alexis Rodriguez as compensation for the death of their son Ryan Rodriguez due to hospital employee negligence.

Ryan Rodriguez died on February 10, 2005, from a Pseudomonas bacterial infection acquired at the hospital due to contaminated respiratory equipment and delayed treatment by hospital staff.

Total settlement amount is $999,999, with $200,000 already paid under statutory liability limits in Florida Statutes s. 768.28, leaving $799,000 to be paid under this act.

Limits attorney fees, lobbying fees, and related costs to a maximum of 25 percent of the $799,000 awarded under this act.

This settlement represents the sole compensation for all claims related to Ryan Rodriguez's death, following a jury verdict of $2 million that was upheld through appeals to the Third District Court of Appeal and Florida Supreme Court.
