Authorizes North Broward Hospital District to pay $2.8 million to Kristi Mellen, personal representative of the Estate of Michael Munson, for his wrongful death on September 21, 2008.

Compensates the estate and statutory survivors (surviving spouse Kristi Mellen and minor children Michael Conner Munson and Corinne Keller Munson) for negligence by hospital triage nurse who misdiagnosed a heart attack as an anxiety attack.

Combines with the $200,000 already paid by the district under Florida Statute 768.28 for a total compensation of $3 million.

Limits attorney's fees, lobbying fees, costs, and related expenses to a maximum of 25 percent of the $2.8 million award.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
