Clerks of court must withhold funds from cash bonds to pay unpaid costs of prosecution, court-ordered representation costs under s. 27.52, court fees, court costs, and criminal penalties.

Cash bond forms must display a prominent notice that all posted funds are subject to forfeiture and withholding for payment of prosecution costs, representation costs, court fees, court costs, and criminal penalties.

Courts must impose costs of prosecution and investigation in all criminal and violation-of-probation cases, regardless of the defendant's ability to pay, with payment due within specified periods not exceeding 5 years.

Clerks of court shall collect and dispense cost payments in all cases regardless of whether disposition occurs in open court or through other legal procedures.

Juveniles adjudicated delinquent or with adjudication withheld shall be assessed costs of prosecution according to the same standards as adult criminal defendants.
