Commission on Ethics and Florida Elections Commission must notify the Chief Financial Officer or appropriate county/municipality/special district governing body of any unpaid fines owed by elected state, county, municipal, or special district officials.

Chief Financial Officer or governing bodies shall withhold salary payments (less applicable taxes) from elected officials who owe fines to either commission and remit withheld payments to the commission until the fine is satisfied.

Chief Financial Officer or governing bodies may retain up to 2 percent of each withheld payment to cover administrative costs incurred under this requirement.

Effective July 1, 2012.
