Adds persons licensed, registered, certified, or regulated under Florida chapters 490 or 491 (relating to psychological services and clinical, counseling, and psychotherapy services) to the list of protected individuals under assault and battery statutes.

Reclassifies assault or battery offenses committed against these mental health professionals to higher felony degrees when the offender knows or has reason to know the victim's identity or position.

Reenacts references in the Criminal Punishment Code offense severity ranking chart and school zero-tolerance policy to incorporate the amendment to section 784.081.

Effective July 1, 2012.
