Creates section 290.00729 of Florida Statutes authorizing Charlotte County to apply to the Department of Economic Opportunity for designation of one enterprise zone not exceeding 20 square miles within the county

Requires Charlotte County to submit its enterprise zone application by December 31, 2012, and comply with requirements in section 290.0055

Allows the Department of Economic Opportunity to designate the enterprise zone despite limitations in section 290.0065 that otherwise restrict the total number of enterprise zones and zones within population categories

Requires the Department of Economic Opportunity to establish the initial effective date for the designated enterprise zone

Takes effect July 1, 2012
