Prohibits possession of a common pocketknife at school-sponsored events or on school property (including school buses and bus stops), except when authorized in support of school-sanctioned activities.

Extends existing weapons restrictions to include common pocketknives alongside firearms, electric weapons, destructive devices, razor blades, and box cutters.

Makes willful and knowing possession of a pocketknife in violation of the law a third-degree felony, punishable under existing criminal penalties.

Updates the Criminal Punishment Code offense severity ranking chart to reflect the amendment regarding weapons possession on school property.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
