Requires the career and education planning course for middle grades promotion to include career exploration aligned with Florida Career Clusters supported by Florida's Career Clusters Initiative.

Removes the requirement that the Department of Education develop course frameworks and professional development materials for the career exploration and education planning course.

Maintains existing requirements that the course include career exploration using Florida CHOICES or comparable programs, educational planning through FACTS.org, and completion of a personalized academic and career plan.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
