Extends the period between parole interview dates from 2 years to 7 years for inmates convicted of murder, attempted murder, sexual battery, attempted sexual battery, kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, certain robberies and burglaries with a human present where sexual acts are involved, or those sentenced to a 25-year minimum mandatory sentence.

Applies the 7-year interview schedule to inmates whose parole release orders have been vacated by the court, provided the Parole Commission finds it is not reasonable to expect parole would be granted during the following years.

Allows the Parole Commission to schedule interviews before the 7-year schedule for inmates within 7 years of their tentative release date.

Amends sections 947.16, 947.174, and 947.1745 of Florida Statutes to implement these changes and updates related parole review procedures.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
