Adds a mandatory one-half credit in health education as an independent requirement for high school graduation, separate from physical education credits.

Increases core curriculum requirements from 16 to 16.5 credits to accommodate the new health education credit.

Reduces elective course credits from 8 to 7.5 credits to offset the additional core requirement.

Allows students to waive the health education requirement by requesting and scoring "C" or better on a health education assessment developed by the Department of Education.

Effective July 1, 2012.
