Establishes the Purple Ribbon Task Force within the Department of Elderly Affairs consisting of 18 volunteer members appointed equally by the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President of the Senate, representing various stakeholder groups including patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and researchers.

Members serve without compensation and cannot receive reimbursement for per diem or travel expenses; the Department of Elderly Affairs provides administrative support and convenes the task force.

Task force must submit an interim study by January 30, 2013, and a comprehensive Alzheimer's disease state plan by August 1, 2013, addressing current and future impact of the disease, existing services and resources, and needed state policies.

Task force responsibilities include assessing the state's response to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, examining services for all demographic groups from younger-onset through late-stage disease, and developing strategies to address identified service gaps.

Task force terminates upon submission of the final report or August 1, 2013, whichever is earlier; meetings may be held in person, by teleconference, or other electronic means.
