Prohibits adult day care centers from claiming to be licensed or designated for specialized Alzheimer's services unless formally designated by the Agency for Health Care Administration under the new "Specialized Alzheimer's Services Adult Day Care Act."

Requires centers seeking designation to notify the agency at least 30 days before initial licensure or 6 months before license renewal, with designations made at initial or renewal inspections if requirements are met.

Mandates operators and designees hired on or after July 1, 2012 to have either a bachelor's degree in health care/social services with 1 year supervisory experience and 1 year dementia care experience, or equivalent nursing credentials, or 5 years supervisory experience with 3 years dementia care experience.

Establishes specific operational requirements including 1:5 staff-to-participant ratio for Alzheimer's/dementia participants, therapeutic activities at least 70 percent of operating hours, secured units with alarm systems, monthly health assessments, and coordinated transportation to prevent participants from driving.

Requires employees hired after July 1, 2012 with direct participant contact to complete 4 hours of dementia-specific training within 3 months and an additional 4 hours within 6 months, with certificates recognized across different adult day care centers, and takes effect July 1, 2012.
