Requires financial literacy to be included in the core curricular content of economics standards in the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and in required K-12 public school instruction.

Makes one-half credit in economics (including financial literacy) a requirement for high school graduation under multiple graduation pathways, replacing the previous removal of financial literacy from mathematics standards.

Replaces the term "vocational-preparatory instruction" with "applied academics for adult education instruction" throughout Florida's education statutes for consistency and clarity.

Removes the exemption from tuition and fees for students attending adult basic, adult secondary, or vocational-preparatory instruction programs as of July 1, 2012.

Requires adult general education students entering programs after July 1, 2012 to complete "Action Steps to Employment" activities including identifying employment opportunities, creating employment goals, conducting skill inventories, and upgrading skills based on career objectives.
