Revises criteria for special alcoholic beverage licenses for restaurants in Citrus County by amending chapter 84-409, Laws of Florida.

Eliminates the prohibition on cocktail lounges or open bars for restaurants meeting the base requirements (2,500 square feet service area, equipment for 150 full-course meals, 51% gross revenue from food and nonalcoholic beverages).

Allows restaurants with 4,000 or more square feet of service area to operate a cocktail lounge or open bar with no limit on service and unrestricted alcoholic beverage consumption.

Allows restaurants with 2,500 to 4,000 square feet of service area to operate a cocktail lounge or open bar serving up to 10 percent of the restaurant's capacity, with unrestricted alcoholic beverage consumption.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
