Creates a public records exemption for electronic mail addresses and physical addresses provided to the Department of Law Enforcement by persons accessing the automatic Florida Offender Alert notification system

Exemption applies retroactively to all such information retained by the department before July 1, 2012

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2017 unless reenacted by the Legislature

Legislature finds the exemption is necessary to encourage greater participation in the notification system by protecting users' address and email information from disclosure that could be used for criminal purposes

Effective date is July 1, 2012
