Proposes amendment to Article I, Section 2 of the Florida Constitution to protect the right of all persons to acquire and possess real property without exception

Removes language that allowed the Legislature to regulate or prohibit ownership, inheritance, disposition, and possession of real property by aliens ineligible for citizenship

Eliminates authority granted by a 1926 constitutional amendment that allowed the Legislature to restrict real property rights based on race or national origin

Requires voter approval through the next general election or an earlier special election specifically authorized by law

Ballot language will explain that the amendment removes discriminatory provisions and guarantees all natural persons an inalienable right to acquire, possess, and protect property
