Adds licensed psychologists (chapter 490) to health insurance claim payment protections previously limited to physicians, dentists, and other specified providers under Florida Statutes sections 627.6131 and 641.3155.

Establishes a 12-month limitations period for health insurers and HMOs to submit claims for overpayment to licensed psychologists, with an exception for fraud cases under section 817.234.

Establishes a 12-month limitations period for licensed psychologists to submit claims for underpayment to health insurers and HMOs.

Adds licensed psychologists to the list of health care providers eligible to receive direct payment of insurance benefits from insurers when patients authorize such assignment on claim forms.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
