Changes the period for requisitioning and maintaining inventory of instructional materials for core courses from 2 years to 4 years of the adoption cycle.

Allows requisition of materials for student growth or maintenance needs during the 5th year of the contract period instead of the 3rd and subsequent years.

Publishers must maintain sufficient depository inventory for core subject areas during the first 4 years (changed from 2 years) of the contract.

Requires that non-state-adopted instructional materials purchased with allocated funds be aligned to the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and used instead of state-adopted materials for core course instruction.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
