Amends Florida Statute 843.02 to clarify that resisting, obstructing, or opposing law enforcement officers and other authorized persons without violence is a first-degree misdemeanor.

Expands the statute's scope to explicitly include "other such person" legally authorized to execute process, in addition to officers defined in statute 943.10 and various correctional and law enforcement personnel.

Establishes that a finding of resistance, obstruction, or opposition cannot be based solely on mere flight from an officer or other authorized person.

Changes statutory language from "shall be guilty of" to "commits" a first-degree misdemeanor, with penalties provided under sections 775.082 or 775.083.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
