Major political parties (excluding minor parties) may conduct independent elections for state and county executive committee members rather than holding elections at the primary election.

Executive committee elections shall be held in August of each presidential election year, with members elected to 4-year terms commencing on the first day of the month following the presidential general election.

Election results shall be determined by plurality of votes cast.

Candidates seeking to qualify for executive committee office must do so with the party's qualifying officer between the 71st and 67th day before the election.

County and state executive committees must hold organizational meetings within 30 and 60 days respectively after newly elected members take office to elect officers.
