Authorizes each district school board to provide cyberbullying awareness instruction in K-12 public schools during the third week in September annually, designated as "Cyberbullying Awareness Week."

Defines "cyberbullying" as transmission of electronic textual, visual, written, or oral communication with malicious or willful intent to threaten, torment, abuse, or intimidate an individual.

Permits instruction to be integrated into existing curriculum through supplemented lesson plans, school assemblies, or other school-related activities, delivered by qualified school personnel or knowledgeable guest speakers.

Establishes instructional goals including identifying and preventing cyberbullying, raising awareness of serious consequences, teaching response methods and reporting procedures, and informing students that cyberbullying incidents often continue beyond school hours.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
