Authorizes advanced registered nurse practitioners to initiate involuntary examinations of persons believed to have mental illness under the Baker Act.

Adds advanced registered nurse practitioners to the list of professionals who may execute a certificate for involuntary examination after examining a person within the preceding 48 hours.

Requires the certificate and law enforcement report to be made part of the patient's clinical record and sent to the Agency for Health Care Administration on the next working day.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
