Transfers and renumbers section 938.25 to section 938.055, requiring courts to assess a $100 fine against defendants who plead guilty or nolo contendere to, or are convicted of, violations of chapters 775-896 of Florida Statutes.

Fine is only assessed when services of a local county-operated crime laboratory are used in the investigation or prosecution of the violation.

Proceeds from the $100 assessment are deposited into the Operating Trust Fund of the Department of Law Enforcement for use by the statewide criminal analysis laboratory system.

Updates cross-references in sections 921.187 and 943.361 to reflect the renumbering from section 938.25 to section 938.055.
