Notes that golf generates a direct economic impact of $7.5 billion and indirect economic benefit of $13.8 billion, with 167,000 employees earning $4.7 billion in annual payroll.

Florida hosts more than 1,200 public and private golf courses generating $3.4 billion in revenues, and is home to major golf organizations including the PGA, LPGA, and World Golf Hall of Fame.

Florida will host 15 professional golf championships in 2012, including six PGA Tour events, three Champions Tour events, two Nationwide Tour events, and one LPGA Tour event.

Golf industry contributes more than $312 million annually to charitable organizations and assists in developing Florida youth through life skills, character development, and community engagement.
