Department of Education shall create a uniform, statewide identification badge for noninstructional contractors who have met background screening requirements, to be issued by school districts and bearing a photograph of the contractor

Contractors must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien, at least 18 years of age, and meet background screening requirements to receive the badge

Identification badge must be visible at all times when a noninstructional contractor is on school grounds and shall be recognized by all school districts

Badge is valid for 5 years; contractors must return the badge to the issuing school district within 48 hours if they provide notification under subsection (6)

Department of Education shall determine a uniform cost for the badge that contractors must bear; exemption applies to contractors exempt from background screening requirements under statute 1012.468
