Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability, in conjunction with the Department of Education, shall conduct a study on creating a 4-year high school graduation option focused on career-technical education and workforce development.

Study shall examine the feasibility of offering students a career-technical education diploma distinct from the standard diploma, requiring at minimum one national industry certification from the Industry Certification Funding List.

Study shall identify course requirements for a career-technical education diploma and overlapping requirements with the standard diploma to allow students to switch between diploma options.

Study shall evaluate potential use of career and professional academies, internships, the Florida Ready to Work Certification Program, and other career and technical education programs.

Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability shall submit study results and recommendations to the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives by December 1, 2013.
