Exempts e-mail addresses of voter registration applicants and voters from public records disclosure requirements under Florida Statutes Section 97.0585.

E-mail addresses obtained for voter registration purposes are declared confidential and exempt from public access under s. 119.07(1) and Article I, Section 24(a) of the State Constitution.

The e-mail address exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2018, unless reenacted by the Legislature.

Cites public necessity for the exemption based on preventing voter fraud, protecting absentee ballot security, and enabling electronic distribution of sample ballots to reduce county costs.

Effective date is contingent upon passage and enactment of HB 247 or similar legislation in the same legislative session.
