Department of Financial Services may allow apparent owners to electronically submit unclaimed property claims.

For electronically filed claims of $1,000 or less, the department may use alternative identity verification methods instead of requiring valid driver license copies, government-issued photographic identification, or sworn notarized statements.

This provision applies to all unclaimed property reported and remitted to the Chief Financial Officer, including property from various statutes (ss. 43.19, 45.032, 732.107, 733.816, and 744.534).
