State sales and use taxes collected on firearms and ammunition are redirected to the Safe Schools Trust Fund instead of the General Revenue Fund.

Nonlethal weapons (chemical spray, stun guns) cannot be openly carried in school safety zones by anyone except school faculty or staff members.

Persons carrying weapons or firearms illegally in school safety zones may avoid criminal charges if they voluntarily surrender the weapon to law enforcement, a school principal, or designated school official at their earliest opportunity and committed no other weapon-related offense in the zone.

Concealed carry licenses do not authorize carrying handguns or concealed weapons in school safety zones, courthouses, polling places, legislative meetings, airports, or other specified locations.

School districts must include mandatory guidance counseling on school safety issues for kindergarten through grade 5 students using Florida's School Counseling and Guidance Framework.
