Adds definitions for "landlord" (any operator, keeper, lessor, or sublessor of real property to the public for rent, including dwelling units) and "leasing agent" (agents or employees employed to make sales, exchanges, or leases in the ordinary course of an owner's business)

Renumbers and amends exemptions in section 475.011 to clarify that entities selling or leasing their own property are exempt only if they do not employ agents or contractors paid on a transactional basis

Maintains exemption for salaried employees of apartment community owners or registered brokers who work in onsite rental offices

Requires that landlords and leasing agents must hold a valid and current real estate sales associate license to operate legally

Takes effect July 1, 2013
