Authorizes supervisory physicians to delegate authority to licensed physician assistants to order medications for patients in facilities licensed under chapter 395, with medication orders not considered prescriptions.

Allows physician assistants working in chapter 395 facilities to order any medication under the direction of their supervisory physician, notwithstanding provisions in chapters 465 or 893.

Amends sections 458.347 and 459.022 of Florida Statutes to apply the same delegation authority to both MDs and DOs supervising physician assistants.

Exempts chapter 395 facility medication orders from the existing prescriptive authority requirements, which include continuing education hours, prescriber numbers, and pharmacy dispensing procedures.

Effective date: July 1, 2013.
